FAQ
How many websites can one ATLKey be registered with?
It can be registered with multiple websites and services that support security keys — you don't need a separate key for each account.
- Two-factor / multi-factor sites (U2F): unlimited
- Passwordless sites (FIDO2): up to 100
Why do some websites ask for a PIN while others don't?
It depends on whether the site uses U2F (two-factor) or FIDO2 (passwordless), according to each site's standard. FIDO2 usually requires a PIN to confirm that the person using the key is its owner.
After registering, do I need to insert the key every time I sign in?
Yes — that's what keeps your account secure. Some websites also let you mark a trusted device so you won't be asked every time.
Why is there no response when I insert my ATLKey?
Please check that:
- You're using a supported browser (such as Chrome, Edge, or Safari)
- The security key is properly inserted into the USB port
- The website is currently in its "Add security key" or "login verification" flow
If it still doesn't respond after checking the above, please contact us for assistance.
What if registration fails?
- Re-insert the key and try again, or check whether the website supports security keys (FIDO / U2F).
- If it still doesn't work, try a different supported browser.
If none of the above works, please contact us for assistance.
